C# To Go: Version 1.1 Released

This is going to be a short and sweet post. I just wanted to announce that version 1.1 of C# To Go is now live in the Android Market. The update has also been submitted to Amazon’s Android marketplace for approval, so hopefully that should be updated within a few days as well. This is a small release that contains one big fix and one small feature.

Thanks to the help of Jon Pryor I was able to find a workaround to the random crashing problem that plagued version 1.0. There is still an underlying bug in Mono for Android that’s being investigated, but with this workaround comes much more stability so I’m very excited about that.

Since I didn’t want the release to only have that, I decided to throw in some very basic keyword highlighting in the results listing. Now when your input gets displayed back in the list, standard C# keywords should be highlighted in blue. It’s by no means a comprehensive highlighting solution, but hey, you’ve gotta start somewhere!

A few users have reported crashes in the app on startup. Neither myself nor the Mono guys have been able to reproduce the problem, but this release does also include a tweak to hopefully allow us to nail down where the problem is happening. If you saw a startup crash the first time around, please check out this version and let me know. We’re dying to find someone who can reproduce this!

Other than that, I hope you all enjoy the update. I’ve gotten some good feedback so far and have a few ideas I’m kicking around for features once I get some time, but as always, please let me know if you have any suggestions. Until then, happy coding on the go!
